Range USA Villa Park

This is a pretty corporate range. Staff is not helpful or knowledgeable. Wait time is ridiculous even when it's empty. Deals are decent but would take anything they say with a grain of salt. Ammo cheaper online. Called the shop on Sunday to ask if they had a particular firearm in stock. They said they didn't but I could order it online for delivery. I proceed to order it online and 6 hours later I get an email saying it's ready for pickup. That's some super fast delivery right there. Weird that when I went to the store (more on that below) they had it in stock - almost like they always had it in stock! I call on Monday morning and ask if I can pick up the item. I'm assured if I got the email then it's ready to pickup. Kind of surprised because I never gave any information that would allow them to run a background check. I ask about this - associate assures me I'll be able to pick up the item. I even tell him I didn't provide the necessary information - he says they run it based on phone number. Interesting. But what do I know. I'm not an all knowing RangeUSA Associate! I go in on Wednesday when I'm in the area. Big shock - I can't pick it up. They never ran the background check and now I'll have to wait several more days. I told the associate my experience. He didn't really care. Almost like a sucks to be you attitude. Pretty consistent with the other 1* Reviews, staff generally do not care. Wait time is ridiculous. All in all not a particularly good establishment. The type of place a person wouldn't mind buying online to save $3.

My instructor was very knowledgeable and patient with the entire class, even beginners like myself. The material and examples that was given to us was very informative. The range course was about Safety and technique and which Kris the instructor did a stellar job at when demonstrating and observing us in action. 5star class and teacher hands down. Thanks again Range USA!

I recently took my CCL class with Kris at the villa park location, Before I took the class I did some research on the instructor for two reasons, I wanted to enjoy my class for 16 hours and I wanted to be more knowledgeable on the rules and regulations. If you are thinking of taking the class I highly recommend Kris as the instructor!!! He made the classes interesting and would keep you very in tune with the class! He was also very helpful in the range and helped as much as you needed and taught you things you thought you might have known but in reality you didn’t! I Also want to say Jesse was a big help as well and very good at helping if needed and giving some good advice!! I will be coming back To the villa park location as my main range from now on.

We’ve been trying to take our guests shooting. We came to this location two days in a row. It’s an hour drive for us, but it looked really nice. The first day, we called in beforehand to make sure we could bring guests from Guatemala. They said everything would be fine, and to head on over and they’d take care of us. We bought everything we needed, but they told us that our guests needed their passports and that they couldn’t take Guatemalan drivers licenses. We said no problem and headed back home. Acceptable identification is important. The next day, we drove another hour to get back to the place, excited to shoot. The person at the counter took 30 mins to help the people in front of us, so we were relieved that we would not be rushed. He cut off literally every sentence I said because he was impatient because of the last people. This time, they told us that US Homeland Security would not allow Guatemalans to shoot in the range, and we were sent away. 1. I seriously doubt U.S. Homeland Security is dictating what’s happening here, as I’ve taken other family members from the same country to shoot at other locations. 2. If this were actually the case, they could have just told us this in the first phone call I made, saving us 4 hours of driving. Shouldn’t your employees know which countries’ citizens are banned from your premises? Their employees are either extremely untrained, which is a huge concern for a shooting range, or they’re just racist. Either way, I went from reading their paid membership details on my phone as I waited in line, to knowing 100% that I won’t even consider driving by this location again.

I had an amazing experience with Range USA obtaining my CCL. Kris, was a very knowledgeable instructor with integrity and a great personality. I recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience while learning. Kris was able to answer any questions or concerns the class had. I’m thankful I chose Range USA and more thankful that Kris was my instructor.
